By day, Matthew is a Senior Architect for Enterprise APIs at Pearson.com Before that, he created, developed, and grew the API program at Placewise Media. That platform was responsible for simotaneously syndicating content to over 150 Android and IOS applications. Matthew was also the technical lead, including API architecture, for Shoptopia.com, supporting browser, mobile web, and IOS platforms from a single business model backend. He has been working in the mobile and api technology spheres since 2009.
Matthew has also run his own web software consultancy, Vox Pop (formerly Vox Pop Design), since 2003. Employing a fluid roster of accomplished development and design collaborators, Vox Pop has created solutions used by companies including Adobe, FedEx, Cricket Communications, and the state governments of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Montana.

Matthew has been quoted in such online periodicals as Programmable Web. He has also written for the websites Web Worker Daily and Utah Pulse. From April, 2005 to August 2009 he was president of the Salt Lake City ColdFusion User's Group, an officially affiliated Adobe organization. Matthew co-founded the Blogging for Business (B4B) Conference in 2007; an event dedicated toward leveraging new technologies for business. This was followed in 2008 by the RIA Dev Shed, an event focused on next generation Rich Internet Applications. In 2010 Matthew helped organize Utah WordCamp for WordPress development.
